Civil Rights Movement

The Civil Rights Movement is well-known and widely studied throughout all sorts of classroom settings, of various age groups, and in different subjects across the United States. We may be familiar with the term "Sunday best," but what about "Sharecropper style?" The Civil Rights movement is rich with different groups expressing their goals for Black liberation in different ways, and comparing and contrasting what these groups wore can teach us a lot about solidarity, respectability, and the power of dress to communicate a very specific message. This zine provides a fresh perspective on a major social studies topic, and it allows for opportunities to move reflection and analysis from the past into present day movements for Black lives.
